Welcome to the Fruits Basket section of the site. Fruits Basket is a 18 + volume manga by Natsuki Takaya and also a 26 episode anime. It should noted that the manga goes way beyond where the anime left off.

Fruits Basket is about a 16 year old girl named Honda Tohru who is taken in by the Sohma family after he mother died and she had been living in a tent. It turns out that this family is just a tiny bit cursed by the chinese zodiac, along with many more issues.

When I first heard of this series years ago, my image of it wasn't anything like what it really is. A lot of people label it as shoujo, but I don't really see that. It's more of a drama, with a large amount of comedy. Actually, slice of life would be better. I don't know, just watch or read it yourself to find out. ;)

The manga is licensed by Tokyopop and is being released on a semi-monthly basis. The anime, which is licensed by Funimation, has already been completely released.
