January 2004 Updates

1.30.04 - ^_^

Looks like cutting IY this week has helped things greatly. The past few days the site has used around half or less than a gig of transfer daily. Before it was around 2 gigs, so I'm quite happy. Seven gigs for two days should work out fine.

Anyways, I'm going to be making a ton of updates come February. I'm going to be updating Cowboy Bebop, Cardcaptor Sakura, and Tenchi. Probably more than that as well. Bebop's update will be very nice. ^_^

Oh well, no updates until the month is over. :)

1.26.04 - IY offline...again

Yeah, like I had said before. Read the last two posts to know why, I don't feel like restating myself. :P

1.25.04 - IY definately going offline tomorrow

Yeah, it's definately going offline tomorrow. Yesterday broke all records for the site. Visitors were at or around 2,675 and bandwidth was over 3 GB's! I was correct in thinking that 14 GB's wouldn't last. IY will be offline starting Monday and will come back on February 1st. No if's, and's, or but's.

1.24.04 - Bandwidth...

I know I said that's it for today, but I decided I needed to post something. :P

I was looking at the bandwidth, and decided I'm going to have to take IY offline again this week. I'm thinking I'm going to leave it up for the weekend and maybe take it offline Monday. We only have a little less than 14 GB left and a whole week to go. I can tell you now, I don't think it'll last. So, after this weekend IY will go offline Monday. I don't know if it'll be for the whole week, it depends on how much bandwidth is used this weekend. Anyways, I hope that's it for today. ^_^

1.24.04 - IY section back online

Yep, it's back online (with the new layout as well!). I've applied all changes that I mentioned, and I also updated it with around 100 images. Keep in mind that I also deleted over 100 images. I didn't apply the changes to the manga section, but that's because it's not as popular and will take me a while to go through (I'm dreading the group section).

Remember though, that if I see the bandwidth soaring again I will take IY offline again for the remainder of the month. I'm probably gonna take it offline sometime next month and so on until bandwidth slows down.

Well, that's it for today. If you noctice that I forgot something (like an image or page), please email me and tell me. I work on this site by myself and I do miss things. ;)

1.20.04 - ...

This is kinda funny, the bandwidth has gone way down. On Sunday the bandwidth was 2.07 GB, yesterday it was 450.66 MB. That is a major drop! So, Inuyasha is the culprit for the site's bandwidth problem.

I'm hoping all the changes I'm making will help out. So far I've cut a lot of pictures and have made it to where there's only 25 images per page. Also, if I see people downloading hundreds of MB's of data, I'm going to ban their IP address for a week. Movie screencaps will stay offline for a while until I see how things are going.

1.19.04 - New layout and series

Yeah, I decided to go ahead and upload the new layout. It would have been up sooner, but I forgot to add the user online script. Gray and white, nice and bandwidth friendly. It's not that different from the last layout, but this time I didn't really mess with the pictures (they're in color!). I believe I've gotten all the bugs out of it, but I may have missed things.

Oh yeah, the new series is now online! It's Saishuu Heiki Kanojo (Saikano)! This is a very good series, and I suggest that you check it out when it's released this spring by Viz. They licensed both the anime and manga, and the anime is supposed to be out in April with the manga following in the summer.

Well, that's about it...I think. I now have to go and upload the new error pages and fix the guestbook's layout. Later! ^_^

1.19.04 - IY section offline, new things this week

Yeah, like I said in all those notices and the last post, the Inuyasha section is offline. It will be back Saturday morning.

I'm going to be adding a new layout to the site later this week, I haven't changed the layout in well over 6 months. I'm also adding a new series to the site! I'll let you guys guess what it is, it begins with an 'S' (and no, it's not Sailor Moon) ^^.

I have a lot of work to do, so that should be about it.

1.16.04 - IY section offline next week

I have notices about this in the IY section, but I thought I should post it here also. The section will be offline from Monday through Thursday to help with the bandwidth issues. Even after cutting Dragon Ball, it's still bad. I'm thinking I need to cut some of the images out of the general galleries. This is also another reason why the movie screencaps haven't come back, I need to thin out the caps. Until I find a better solution, you can expect parts of the site to be offline for quite a few days every month.

I do have direct linking blocked, so that's not the problem. I have noticed that a ton of people are direct linking. Why, I don't know (all they get is a broken image), I've had direct linking blocked for well over a year now. If you see someone direct linking an image off my site, tell them 'fuck you' for me. They're not paying several hundred dollars a year to host them. -_-

1.8.04 - Fanart updated

I updated the fanart section with two fanarts. One from Brad Ikerman, and one from me. If you want your fanart in the gallery, please go to the submit stuff page and follow the directions before you send anything. You can check out the fanart gallery by clicking here.

Well, I think that's it for today. I'm going to go and try and finish working on that 'something' that I mentioned a few days ago.

This is just a quick note to tell you guys that the second Inuyasha movie screencaps won't be online for a while. I'm busy working on something (which I think you'll like) that will be taking it's place for a couple weeks. That should be online in a couple days (maybe sooner, I don't know).

Also, I should note that I'm going back to college this semester (my one year off from school is now over, yeah! /sarcasm), so updates will probably slow down. Well, that's it for today. Later!
